A challenge for our readers

So something occurred to me the other day. One, we haven't been interacting much with our readers. So far the blog has been a one way street. We know (or hope) people are reading our blog and we also know that we don't talk to everyone we should one on one. Two, there is a section for comments at the end of the blog post and we would love to hear what you think or have you tell us how big of losers we are for not talking with you all.

So here is an attempted solution. I want everyone to send in questions for Stacey and I to answer in another post. We are going to be in Kampala (the capital) the week of the 25th and it would be really easy for us to get good internet to answer all of your questions in a post.

That is where you come in. Add comments, send us emails, hit us up on facebook, anything really that will get us some questions to answer. We can generate some commonly asked questions as well for some filler, but we would really like to hear from those who are active followers.

You have two weeks. Get on it!

  1. Ok. I'm going to start with bathroom talk.
    1. Do you have a toilet?
    2. What's it like?
    3. Roughly how many times have you experienced... bad bowels?
    4. How far away is your "mail box"?
    5. How often do you check it?
    6. Would you, by chance, be coming home for Christmas?
    7. I love you? Nope, that's not a question..
    8. How far from your home are your respective schools?
    9. This was probably in the blog, but what type of material is Stacey covering with her students?
    10. How's the weather?

  2. Ok, comments it is:

    1) In some of your more candid moments (skype, fb chat etc) I got the impression that you are often frustrated by an attitude that seemed to be more "give me" than "teach me". Is that still the case or was it mostly an initial reaction to a new culture and your inexperience?

    2) How has this grand adventure affected your growth as husband and wife?

    3) Whats the score for the Man. U. vs Bursaspor game tomorrow?

    4) Has Stacey made any sweet quilts?

    5) Green, Gold, or Blue?

    6) To date, what is the most useful phrase/ slang you've picked up that wasn't part of any formal education?

I have more questions, but that should be good for now.

I still tell people about what you guys do as PC volunteers and the new-age hippies on the University of Michigan's campus just about wet their pants in excitement. So take that for what it's worth I guess, but I'm still proud of you two and the things you are doing.

  3. I read your blogs and sometimes get to talk to you on Skype and I have 1000 of questions but never have time to ask them all. The pressing question on my mind right now is...
    Where is the turkey staying??
    Love you guys!
